Frequently Asked Questions about Chair Massage at Events:

Do participants need to undress?  No.  Chair massage is done with clothing on.  Occasionally I will ask someone to take a jacket or sweater off if they can do so without being too exposed to provide a better massage.

Do you use any oil?  No.  I do not use oil for chair massage.

How much space do you need?  I need an open space of about 6 x 6 feet.  It is best to set the massage chair up close to the event but off to the side of the main activities.  It is important for participants to be able to SEE the massage chair to get the best usage of the service.

What types of payments do you accept?  For corporate events, I can send you an invoice and you can pay by check or credit card.  For private parties and groups, I accept check, cash and credit card (with prior agreement).

How long should each massage be?  I recommend a minimum of 10 minutes.  A 5 minute chair massage is just too short to provide any meaningful benefit in my opinion.  I can expand the chair massage all the way up to 30 minutes.

Should we use a signup sheet?  It depends on your event.  If you event is less structured and participants have the freedom to stop and pop in for a massage throughout the day, a sign up sheet is not necessary.  If you have scheduled events throughout the day, it can be useful to provide a signup sheet.  This can help to ensure that everyone who wants a massage can get one.

Will one massage therapist be enough?  For large groups and events with rigidly scheduled activities, sometimes a second massage therapist is necessary.  This is particularly true if you expect a large number of participants to come through during lunch and break times.  A second therapist during these peak times can make sure that everyone has access to a massage.

I can help you to arrange another therapist if we decide in setting up a massage plan for your event that it is necessary.
